    Thunderkit blinked at Echokit warmly.
"Hi!'' he greeted in excitement, ''I'm doing well! What about you? I've never seen you around before...are you new in the Clan?'' Thunderkit tilted his head questioningly.

Duskfur padded over to the freshkill pile, happy to be out of the nursery for awhile.

ic: Talonstar sat upon Highledge (like Highrock in Thunderclan) observing the camp below. Sighing he breathed in the scent of his fellow clanmates.

Stone-ears crouched into stalking position. He had been solo hunting all morning and he wasn't about to miss what would be his third catch of the morning. He crept silently toward the mouse.

    Talonstar blinked gratefully at Featherfoot.
"Good morning, Featherfoot. Yes. That would be great," he replied cooly. 'Featherfoot is such a fine warrior and an exceptional deputy,' he thought proudly.
"It would be great if you can get an extra patrol to check the borders along the MoonClan territory. Stone-ears reported a few days ago that he scented MoonClan warriors dangerously close to our borders.''

Stone-ears sprang onto the mouse with ease, killing it in one swift bite. He scraped some earth over his catch and proceeded through the forest, ears pricked and mouth open slightly.

Talonstar held her gaze for a moment then closed his eyes, twitching his whiskers in amusement. He opened his pale green orbs. "That's quite alright, Featherfoot," he meowed, amusement laced in his tone, ''It is often when a Clan leader forgets such matters of a warriors responsibility. To tell you the truth, I have not been to the nursery for many days, now and the matter of apprenticeship has slipped my mind. I will go there at sunhigh and evaluate the kits. In the meantime, if you see Stone-ears, please inform him that I want to see him in my den.'' Talonstar rose from his spot on Highledge, leaping off, and crossed the clearing to check on the elders.

Stone-ears leapt onto a sparrow just before it fluttered out of reach. 'I better return to camp. I already have at least four pieces of prey to take back.' He collected his sparrow and retraced his scent trail to gather the rest of his catch.

Talsonstar felt his pelt heat up with embarrassment as he drew closer to the elders den. ''Of course Stone-ears is ready for an apprentice. He's been a warrior for moons and I've failed to grant him one. If only I had visited the nursery more often then I might have noticed.'' Sighing, he paused to give his chest fur a few licks.

Stone-ears wandered back into camp proudly. His freshly caught sparrow and mouse dangling from his strong jaws. He quickly trotted over to the freshkill pile then turned, ready to race back out into the forest to collect his last two pieces of freshkill.

Talonstar emerged from the elders den, satisfied with their condition then noticed Featherfoot conversing with Stone-ears. He walked toward his den to meet with Stone-ears.

    Stone-ears dipped his head respectively.
"Of course, Featherfoot. I shall see him right away! Thanks!"
Stone-ears raced across the clearing toward Talonstar's den.

Thunderkit's eyes widened with obvious excitement. His tail fluffed at the surprise of the news. He sprang to his paws and raced to the foot of Highrock, staring up at the top excitedly. With his excitement also came a wave of nervousness and he sat quickly, kneaded the ground with his paws.

Duskfur finished her piece of freshkill and trotted quickly over to Highrock. She weaves her way through the cats to reach her kit at the front.
"Thunderkit!" she exclaimed, "your fur is sticking out everywhere!" She washed Thunderkit frantically, as he attempted to squirm away.

Thunderpaw followed Swiftclaw closely, listening to his mentor. He was enthralled with all the new scents and sights.
"Yes, Swiftclaw. I understand, no eating stuff I don't know and no attacking without signal," he mewed back to his mentor. Thunderpaw halted and stared up at the Great Scyamore.
"Whoa," he breathed, "that tree is huge..." He looked at Swiftclaw questioningly.
    "Have you ever climbed it?"

Thunderpaw struggled to keep up with his swift mentor and once they burst into camp, he was out of breath. He stood at the entrance of the camp, gasping for a few heartbeats before leaping to his paws and springing over to Highrock. Thunderpaw fixed his eyes on his leader with concern.

Duskfur blinked and craned her head back to see the leader on Highrock.
"Hunting will have to wait until later, I suppose," she mewed to Sootyfoot before padding over to sit next to Thunderpaw.

Thunderpaw blinked at the news. He hadn't really known the old medicine cat, therefore he felt he was not as remorseful as he should have been. Despite that however, he still made a point to silently acknowledge the medicine cat's new place in StarClan with a dip of his head.
He looked up once Swiftclaw spoke to him.
"Alright! I can't wait!" he mewed excitedly, the grief he was trying to muster forgotten.

Duskfur's eyes widened in surprise. She had known the recent medicine cat for quite awhile. She hung her head in grief and stared at the ground for a few heartbeats, wishing the medicine cat safe travels to StarClan. Eventually, she lifted her head to see what her leader would say next.

Ooc:Sure thing! Just fill out the form for your character(s) and jump on in! :)

Talonstar sat proudly as he addressed Stone-ears.
"Stone-ears, I think it's about time you had an apprentice of your own. I have not been to the nursery for days, but I believe some kits are close to apprenticeship. Be ready, young warrior, for you will receive the next kit." he mewed to Stone-ears.

Stone-ears blinked, his jaws parted slightly.
"Really..?" he squeaked. Coughing, he pulled himself together recovering from the excitement of the news. "Thank you Talonstar! I won't let you or my apprentice down!"

    Talonstar nodded.
"I'm counting on you Stone-ears. You are dismissed, you've been hunting all morning, go get some freshkill for yourself."

Talonstar pricked his ears upon hearing the voice of his deputy.
"Of course, Featherfoot," he mewed. "Come on in. I just finished speaking with Stone-ears."

Stone-ears padded out of his leader's den, excited for the news and made his way toward the freshkill pile.
